Introducing Raoul - The Spirit of Southwest Louisiana

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you Cuz Raoul - the spirit of this place. That's right! This place here, Southwest Louisiana.

I think of him as an interdimensional traveler, but over the millennia, he has been called a cāmc, a shāk tōl, a Lao, an Iwa, and even a god.

Some of you may know that the name Raoul means wolf counsel, and a wolf he is. I called to him for help, and he agreed - for a price. That price? Well, to tell his story, of course.

I woke up the cāmc, and now I must do his bidding. You see, ol' Cuz Raoul is ready to find more followers, but he can't do that unless more know of him.

What Is Cuz Raoul Anyway?

Being where we are, you might think that Raoul is Cajun, but no, maybe Texas Lite, but nope, wrong again. He is older - much older. You see, our friend is from a race of interdimensional travelers that live for millions, possibly billions, of years.

When Cuz Raoul first stopped by our neck of the woods, we were still underwater. The very salty sea that left all that salt behind underneath Sulphur was still covering Southwest Louisiana, but Raul knew that here was something special - a place he wanted to be.

Maybe it was the beautiful sea creatures that called this area home, or maybe it was an energy - a ripple in the atoms - but it called to him.

And what was it I asked ol' Raoul for? What was it that was so important that I sold myself to do its bidding? Ah, dear reader, maybe one day I can tell you, but for now, I am commanded to tell its tales.

Stay and read more of Cuz Raul's campfire tales if you dare.
